Learning about blogging and so much more...

Today's Scripture: Isaiah 33:6 NET

"He is your constant source of stability; He abundantly provides safety and great wisdom; He gives all this to those who fear Him."

I've been sitting at my computer off and on trying to get this page set up and discover what I can do as far as settings and layout. I've found from the past couple of months that I can spend a lot of time reading blogs and today I learned that I can spend a lot of time working on a blog. All that to say, I will have to find a place of balance and discipline in the blog world. =)

I did have an amazing time with my Lord today. After 30 something years of stresses and demands from a career, I have semi-retired and am loving being home and having time to do and be things I've wanted for so long. I have the most amazing times with God is prayer, study, and meditation each day. I'm also trying very hard to get better physically fit through lifestyle changes and exercise. I finally did some of my Holy Yoga DVD today. It felt good.

Two things God has been trying to teach me this year have been 1) To stop trying to do everything on my own and instead reach in and tap the source of the Holy Spirit that is within me. It's all my choice. He's available and just waiting for me to submit to Him and seek His help. 2) To be more thankful. Actually to overflow with gratitude and thanksgiving. In reading R. T. Kendall's book, "Just Say Thanks", I am remind of how I've neglected a gushing heart of thanks and am embarassed before God for my lack of awareness and then the expression of great thanksgiving. He deserves better. And speaking of things to be thankful for...The photograph on this post is one I took last summer when we visited The Tetons and Yellowstone. Now isn't God amazing!

Wow! That photo is incredible! You have done an awesome job with the layout of your blog! I LOVE it! I noticed that you had signed up to follow my recipe blog and I decided to pop over and pay you a visit.

I know what you mean about finding "a place of balance and discipline in the blog world". It can become very time-consuming if you're not careful, but, for me, it has been a wonderful way to meet so many godly Christian women that have become a great source of inspiration and encouragement to me.

I am glad that you have been able to semi-retire and find some time to do some things that you have always wanted to. I look forward to that time, but for now, I still work full-time outside the home.

It sounds like you are having some amazing "quiet times"! Can't wait to hear more about what He is teaching you!

Welcome to this blogging world and thanks again for stopping by. I hope you'll come back often.

Hi Trina!
Just noticed you were a new "follower" and I wanted to stop by and say Thanks and nice to meet you! I love the layout and design of your blog! I know very well what you mean...blogging is such a wonderful tool, yet it can so easily grow into quite a time-consuming prospect!

How wonderful you get to spend such quality quiet time with the Lord these days. I'm looking forward to visiting to catch some of those insights as time allows. (That photo is gorgeous!!!)

Welcome to blogworld! Always great to meet a new siesta! (I know since you follow LPM you'd know exactly what that means!) ; )

I love your layout! Good job for just getting started or even for being around for awhile. I am looking forward to keeping up with you through your blogs.
The photos are wonderful. I really love the rose. Did you take that photo? I might like to paint it.
We are doing Beth Moore's new study on Esther. I thought of you during the first video when she recounted abut recently going through her "dark night of the soul". Hard to imagine that about her. Anyway, I thought of you and just had to praise God that you didn't give up during that time. The mountain breaking through the clouds was also a reminder and that our God is faithful!
Looking forward to your posts.
